Bannerghata national park (part 2) - the ZOO...

The zoo inside the park is an excellent place housing various species of fauna! The one which caught my attention first was the giant Indian squirrel. What a long and bushy red tail it had...

It was a blessing to see two black bears eating sugarcane. Oh, how they munched and tore the sugarcane, sitting in various poses.

One more beauty here was the orange eared scale tortoise. There were nearly 200 of them inside a very small pond. It was exciting to look at these tiny green creatures with two spots(ears) of orange on them. Star tortoise which usually appear in the smuggled out of India news - were there too.

Also witnessed a cobra entering its nest or whatever. There were some shreds of skin they had shed too.

Other species here were plenty of pelicans, elephants, love birds, parrots of all kinds, crocodiles, hippopotamus, and leopards.

Also went for the grand safari to view free white lions, tigers, and bisons. But did not enjoy it that much.

But the zoo is surely worth visiting more than once ;-)
