Lung Involvement in Breast Cancer - A Webinar by Indian Chest Society on 23rd October, 6:30 pm IST

Ladies !!!

"Feel for lumps in the breasts,

 Prevent shortness of breath,

Catch the cancer early and

Save yourselves."

Cancer breast is the second common cause of cancer related death in women worldwide. If detected and treated early, one can lead a normal life since its spread is prevented. Hence in order to create an awareness about cancer breast and its complications, the month of October was launched as  Breast Cancer Awareness Month in 1985.

Most cancer breasts occur above the age of 50 years in females, but can also occur in younger age group between 30 to 50 yrs.

5% of Breast cancer cases occurring in women under the age of 40 years  is aggressive especially with risk factors like family history and genetic mutations.

If cancer breast is not detected early, it can spread to lungs/liver/bones in 60% of patients and studies have shown that those who survived it later died mainly due to lung involvement. If cancer spreads beyond breast, to distant organs, then their survival rate is poor.

In view of Breast Cancer Awareness month, the Indian Chest Society is organising a health education programme for women regarding the early detection of cancer breast with lung involvement through a multidisciplinary team approach involving eminent Pulmonologists, Surgeon, Plastic Surgeon, Physician and Pathologist to create an awareness of cancer breast with lung involvement.

Come join us in our fight against it, as our education program aims at dissemination of knowledge about the early detection so that there is cure and survival is good.

The webinar organized by the Indian Chest Society is on 23rd October, 6:30 PM IST.
