Historical Places in Tellicherry, Kerala

The Tellicherry fort is a tourist attraction in Kerala. The fort has lot of underground tunnels that are supposed to lead into the sea. A mythical belief is that Tipu Sultan was hiding in this fort after digging the tunnel from Mysore to Tellicherry! The fort has curious dome shaped dustbins that look cute and useful!

Overbury's Folly is a place from where you can get a good view of the Arabian sea. In 1879, Overbury, a district judge of Tellicherry , wanted to construct a picnic spot at the cliff. He couldn't complete it, but the spot later earned the name "Overbury's Folly". A closer view of the rocks shows small red crabs having fun.
