One Book (From) One Country - A World Book Review Blog

Priya was my classmate at CEG, Anna University, Guindy. I remember her as the enthusiastic choreographer of all the dance shows we launched for our department cultural festivals. She was a voracious reader and the book "Gora" by Rabindranath Tagore was one of her favorites!

Priya and I were also part of the same NSS (National Service Scheme) Unit 5 in college and so i knew about her culinary talents - i think she made Puliyodharai (Tamarind Rice) for our entire team in Valarpuram village. We also joined hands in cutting and burning down thorny bushes around a big pond. And the Antakshari sessions in the nights are unforgettable :). Hope Priya feels the same about our NSS days!

I recently caught up with her over Facebook and was surprised and pleased to find a single-plait Priya transformed into a bubbly bob-haired mom! And even more excited to find out that she is blogging about the books that she is reading.

Now, what intrigued me was that she was choosing a famous author/book from a country each around the world. She calls her self-directed project "One Book One Country"(OBOC). So far she has completed reading and blogging about 25 books from 25 different countries including Burma, Armenia, and Australia. Now, that's really interesting is it not?
