The One Day, One Story, Season 9 of Pratham Books is here now. International Literacy Day is on September 8th, and Pratham Books reading champions worldwide will be conducting online story reading sessions with children. I'm a reading champion of Pratham Books and have read aloud the story 'Angry Akku' written and illustrated by Vinayak Varma and published by Pratham Books in several languages. The story is at Level 2 and is suitable for children from the ages of 6 to 8 or close to it.
Angry Akku is a beautiful picture book and the story shows how we can manage the anger of kids and also tips for kids to overcome their anger. This book won the Best of Indian Children’s Writing (BICW) Award in 2018 and the Hindu Young World Goodbooks Award, 2019 for the best picture book story.
I have so far read aloud 6 storybooks of Pratham Books at different schools and NGOs. Angry Akku is the seventh book I'm reading aloud for Pratham Books and is also the first online session. I was excited to see many other readings and storytelling of 'Angry Akku' by teachers, artists, and even school children on YouTube. Each version was different and quite good and children were nowhere behind in the art of storytelling and reading. Do share the Angry Akku story with children, parents, and friend groups. Even adults have a takeaway from the story.
My read aloud of 'Angry Akku' YouTube video is given below. Happy Listening and Story Time :)
