Covid-19 is causing havoc and the frontline workers such as nurses, ambulance drivers, and para medical staff work around the clock to serve the people. To keep up their spirits and to provide them with nutritious food, a group co-ordinated by selfless volunteers has come up with the initiative of distributing fruits, Oral Re-hydration Solutions (ORS), and liquids to these frontline workers in the different hospitals from May 9, 2021.
We have donated 400 whole
apples to the Be Well hospital for distribution for a week to 74 nurses so that
they can take a bite in between duties. We engaged the regular truck drivers to
transport the fruits so that they also earn a livelihood during these tough
times.
Due to the current lockdown restrictions, the volunteers can serve hospitals and primary health centers within a 5 kilometer radius.
Whoever wants to be part of this initiative, please PM your number and we will add you to the Frontline Workers Support Whatsapp group. You can help us in any of the following ways.
1. Identify the local hospitals and get the
staff details.
2. Identify hotel owners / NGOs who can support
this cause and this will involve lot of manual work.
3. Identify who can financially contribute for
this initiative.
4. Get use and throw paper boxes for packing
fruits.
5. Ask hospitals to arrange for pickups.
6. One or 2 people have to track this in our
database.
7. Audit once in a while that the process is
working and is not having any loopholes.
