Everyone loves biryani. We tried prawn biryani at home for a change, and it came out well. Happy to share the recipe with you.

Ingredients:

Biryani Rice – 1 tumbler / cup

Medium-sized Prawns - ½ kilo ( half a kilo)

3 medium-sized Onions

2 medium-sized Tomatoes

3 small Green Chillies

1 tablespoon Ginger Garlic paste

1 handful of Mint Leaves

1 handful of coriander leaves

2 small pieces of Cinnamon sticks

1 big Bay Leaf

4 Cloves

1 tablespoon curd

1 teaspoon turmeric powder

1 teaspoon chilli powder

Half of a small-size lime

Water – 2 tumblers

Initial preparations:

Clean the prawn with turmeric and salt.

Soak rice in water for half an hour.

Cut the tomatoes, onions, and chillies into small pieces.

Cut the coriander and mint leaves into small pieces.

Cooking method:

In a cooker, pour 5 big tablespoons of refined groundnut oil or any oil that you prefer. Put cinnamon sticks, bay leaf, cloves, and fry. Put onion and fry till brown colour. Put chillies and tomatoes and fry well. Put ginger-garlic paste and fry well. Put the coriander and mint leaves and fry. Put 1 teaspoon of turmeric powder and 1 teaspoon chilli powder and fry. Then put curd and fry. Now, put the prawns inside the vessel and fry for 1 minute to mix with the other ingredients.

Add salt to taste. Squeeze lime. Pour 2 cups of water. Put the rice and cook. Do not put the pressure weight on the cooker lid. Once steam comes, cook in high flame for 5 minutes. Then keep in simmer for 5 minutes. Then switch off the stove. Keep the cooker on the stove for five minutes without flame.

Biryani is ready. Serve with onion raitha. Yummy!
