Imagine a car without petrol, a tube light without electricity, and a plant without sunlight. The car, tube light, and plant will be of no use and will finally wilt. The same laws hold true for children too. A child without food is like a machine without fuel. The fuel of glucose is missing as the child is missing his/her meals three times a day.
Wasted food in dustbins,
Excess food in diarrhea,
Variety food in buffet,
Scattered food in reality shows,
But acid is food in a hungry child's stomach!
Has anyone done something to rectify this problem of hunger? Yes. Akshaya Patra foundation started its journey of giving free noon meal to school children from the year 2000. The sight of a child fighting with street dogs for food was the eye-opening moment for one of the founders of Akshaya Patra.
